Our Founding
In 1979, deep in the heart of Waterman, Illinois, Bill and Michele Badal started something special - 5-B's Catering, Inc. They named it 5-B's to honor their family – Bill, Michele, and their three sons, Chris, Tim, and Joel. Their love for food and serving their community inspired them to create a company that would become a major part of the Greater Chicago Area's food scene.

Building a Legacy
5-B’s has served over a million meals since its inception. They've been part of many events, from small family gatherings to larger community events. Most recently, they have had the privilege to serve thousands and thousands at the annual Sandwich Fair, a cherished local tradition.

Our Cuisine
5-B's serves food that feels like home, but with a unique country twist. Outdoor grilling is their specialty, reminding people of cozy family gatherings. But that's not all. Their menu offers a wide range of options to cater to different tastes, making sure every event is a unique food adventure.

Passing the Torch
In 1999, Tim Badal, one of Bill and Michele's sons, took over as the General Manager of 5-B's. With the same passion and dedication as his parents, he continues to run the business, keeping the family's love for good food and service alive.

Moving Forward
In 2022, after over three decades in Waterman, 5-B's moved its headquarters to Hinckley, IL. While the location changed, their commitment to their customers and the quality of their food remains the same.
